Be a Part of the Biggest Event of All, Curing Cancer!
Please Join Us for the 2019 Meters for Myeloma at Fairfield University
This is the third annual 5K Walk/Run, hosted by the Fairfield University Rowing Team,
that raises both awareness and funds for multiple myeloma research!
Multiple myeloma is the second most common blood cancer and currently there is no cure.
Your participation makes an impact on research to accelerate a cure!
This event was started by Fairfield University's Rowing Team in honor of their beloved coach Matt Labine,
who passed away from multiple myeloma in September 2017. In addition, this event is in honor of Dr. Jo Hannafin, friend of the Rowing Team, and myeloma patient diagnosed in April 2012.

The 2019 Meters for Myeloma is even more special this year due to the graduating senior class being the last to personally know Matt during his time at Fairfield University. Matt was in incredible man; being described as kind, patient, endearing, humble, selfless and even a gentle giant. He graduated from Yale University as a varsity rower with a B.A in economics. He then rowed at Henley Royal Regatta in the U.K and was on two U.S National Men's Rowaing Teams. He won an Emmy on his writing on several daytime dramas and was such a wonderful person to know and greatly missed.
